Weight Loss and Diet
Patches
Weight loss and diet
patches offer a technique called ‘transdermal process’ where the
active substance is introduced through the skin.
Many people prefer a transdermal diet patch because they can put it
on in the morning and forget about it. The ‘Hoodia patch’, like
other transdermal diet patches, uses a time-released mechanism so
that a small amount of the active ingredient is released into the
blood circulation system throughout the day. If the patch comes off,
it must be replaced with another one. Normally a person would use
one diet per day, replacing it every 24 hours.
Busy people may not remember when their next meal will be so diet
patches may offer a solution for these people. Some diet patches
also suppress thirst as well as appetite. Hydration is necessary for
weight loss so to avoid dehydration, it is important to remember to
drink plenty of water, even if you are not thirsty.
There are diet patches
that are natural and others that are pharmaceutical drug orientated.
With the natural diet patches there are no known side effects
however there can be side effects with any type of drug you take.
Before jumping on to a weight loss
program or taking up
diet patches it is always advisable to consult your
weight loss doctor. It is
advisable to reduce calories gradually and continue to eat small
meals, several times a day.
